Northern VA Grease Trap Clean Out

Quick, if you own a restaurant, how often should you have your Northern VA grease trap cleaned out?  If you don’t know the answer to that question, you may not be having it cleaned out as often as you should.  That’s problematic, because if the trap isn’t cleaned out at regular intervals (every four to six weeks), it could cause your system to back up, which could force you to shut down for several days until that problem is addressed, which will cost you money and make your customers unhappy.

If you’ve ever taken a look at your grease trap, you know it’s pretty disgusting.  There’s just no other way to say it.  Grease traps are nasty and cleaning them is even worse.  That’s why most restaurant owners opt to outsource the process of keeping them clean.

Given how important the lowly grease trap is to the success of your business though, it’s not something you want to let just anyone do.  That’s why you need a trusted expert on your side.  That’s us.  We’re Northern VA’s grease trap clean out experts.  With decades of experience behind us, there’s not much we haven’t seen, and no job is too big for our talented team to handle.

When you call us to schedule a Northern VA grease trap clean out, here’s what you can expect:

  • First, we’ll completely drain your tank of grease and other wastes that have become trapped in it.
  • Second, once the tank has been emptied, we’ll give it, and all the baffles a thorough inspection and cleaning.
  • Third, once that’s done, we’ll test the system to be sure that all wastes and water are flowing back into the trap as they should be.
  • Finally, we’ll properly dispose of all materials pumped from the tank.

A seamless, end-to-end process that leaves you with one less thing to worry about and greater peace of mind.

As important as having your trap cleaned regularly is though, that’s only part of the equation.  The other part is education.  If your employees don’t know what should or should not go into the trap, you’ll almost certainly need to call on us more frequently than you otherwise would.  Here then, are a few things to make sure your employees know not to do:

  • Don’t pour boiling water directly into the trap – doing this will dissolve the grease, allowing it to pass out of the trap, and into either your septic tank, or your municipal sewage system.
  • Don’t connect a dishwasher to the trap – This will have the same basic effect as pouring hot water directly into the trap.
  • Don’t connect a sink to the trap, if the sink has a garbage disposal unit connected to it.
  • And finally, don’t pour chemicals or additives (including bleach or drain cleaners) into the trap. This will not only harm the beneficial bacteria in the system, but it can also (potentially) cause an environmental hazard.

If you can handle the education part, we’ll handle the messy part.  Call us to schedule your appointment today!
