Warrenton VA Septic Inspections

When was the last time you had your home septic system inspected?  If you can’t remember the date, that’s a solid indication that it’s been too long.  Our recommendation is that you have your tank pumped and take advantage of our Warrenton VA septic inspection service every three to five years.

Doing so will minimize your risk of having a major septic problem because it gives us the opportunity to catch problems before they get out of hand.

So what kinds of issues are our Warrenton VA septic inspections likely to uncover?  That depends because every home and every situation is different, but here are some of the more common ones we find on a regular basis:

  • Clogged Tank Or Lines – When you flush non-biodegradable materials down the toilet, there’s only one place they can go; your tank. Some of them might leech out into the lines that connect your tank to your drain field but in either case, the effect is the same.  Effluent cannot escape to the drain field.  Note that roots from nearby trees or shrubs could also infiltrate your lines, causing much the same problem.
  • Soil Compaction – This can happen naturally over time, or it can be a consequence of heavy equipment passing over your drain field. The more compacted the soil of your drain field is, the less efficiently it can process wastes.
  • Grease Capping – Grease capping is the natural consequence of pouring grease down your drain. Some of it will invariably escape the tank and leech into your drain field.  Once there, it will float to the surface and harden, preventing your drain field from processing wastes efficiently.
  • Excess Water – This one might seem counterintuitive, since your septic and plumbing systems are intricately interconnected. Even so, too much water can be a bad thing because it can overwhelm your drain field.  Dripping faucets, constantly running toilets, or the downspouts connected to your rain gutters aimed at the drain field are the most common ways by which excess water winds up in your system.

Another reason you may want to take advantage of our Warrenton VA septic inspections is when you’re in the market for a new home for you and your family.

You should take full advantage of and order every inspection available for any property you’re seriously interested in purchasing.  There’s no such thing as too much information, and before you commit to a fifteen- or thirty-year mortgage, it pays to find out as much as you possibly can about your prospective new home.

Of course, we do a lot more than just inspections.  We offer a broad range of services to both commercial and residential customers, so whatever your needs are, we’ve got you covered.  Give our office a call today.
